What we do
VFW members care passionately about serving their fellow citizens. Just as we pledged during our time in uniform to serve our nation, we again vow to sustain a lifelong commitment to country.

We believe in the the importance of participating in our community. By doing so we raise awareness to the VFW Mission and the various causes and events within the community. Below is a list of some of the various events and programs we actively participate in.
Buddy Poppies

The VFW Buddy Poppy program provides compensation to the veterans who assemble the poppies, provides financial assistance in maintaining state and national veterans' rehabilitation and service programs and partially supports the VFW National Home For Children.
The VFW conducted its first poppy distribution before Memorial Day in 1922, becoming the first veterans' organization to organize a nationwide distribution. The poppy soon was adopted as the official memorial flower of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Click here to learn more from our National VFW website.
